Ms. Shamsa Abubakar Fadhil is a Kenyan peace mediator and community mobilizer. Known as ‘Mama Shamsa’, she has been recognized by ZAHF for nurturing youth in her home country and saving young people from lives of violence, crime, and extremism, by providing them with counselling, care, and training. Our film is an intimate and unflinching portrait of Mama Shamsa and the stoic, life-saving love that she has helped transform her community with.
